The Zora’s, Rito and Gorons lack this, with all Adult models looking the same age.įinley is written as a Zora with a bit of body dysmorphia going on. As it is, there’s Child, Adult and Elderly model types for each race of Hyrule bar Korok’s, with the Hylians and Gerudo’s having more diversity where you can tell weather an adult model character is on the younger or older side. The issue could of been prevented all together if Nintendo had added an additional age type to the NPC’s. They then did so and moved on, having no idea of how creepy they accidentally made the quest. So when a translator was working on side quests and came across one about a young Zora and young Hylian meeting to become adventure buddies, they went “aww cute why don’t I make this sweeter and make them lovers”. The English localisation team ended up making several changes like removing the first person aspect from the quest log (in Japenease the log stuff is all written by Link and from his POV).

I understand being frustrated with the situation, but the fact of the matter is that something creepy is written in the English release, even if the Japanese version is very different with this quest.įurthermore, if you've already seen a post like this before and you disagree with it, simply keep scrolling. The translation directly from Japanese being different from English doesn't negate how creepy it is in the English release.
